Name

The Local Body shall be called Churches Together in Sandbach (CTS).

Basis and Commitment

Churches Together in Sandbach unites in pilgrimage those churches in Sandbach, which, acknowledging God’s revelation in Christ, confess the Lord Jesus Christ as God and Saviour according to the Scriptures; and, in obedience to God’s will and in the power of the Holy Spirit commit themselves to seek a deepening of their communion with Christ and with one another in the Church, which is his body, and to fulfil their mission to proclaim the gospel by common witness and service to the world, to the glory of the one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Aims and Functions

The aims and function of Churches Together in Sandbach are:

  1. To be a visible sign of the churches' commitment to one another, in obedience to our Lord’s prayer “that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are one in me and I am in you; may they also be in us so that the world may believe you have sent me”. (John 17, v21) NIV.

  2. To provide a forum for the Church Leaders and representatives of the churches in which to create a common policy of commitment and sharing of resources.

  3. To encourage shared worship and prayer, learning, service and evangelism with each church sharing the treasure of its own tradition.

  4. To promote new initiatives in mission and service, responding to the needs of society and where appropriate to work with secular authorities.

  5. To encourage and assist the formation and development of Local Ecumenical Projects and other forms of co-operation at the local level in Sandbach and the surrounding area.
